My pupils alerted me to this little chap crawling across their desks. The girls were screaming and the boys were trying to catch it! It's ok Dad, I made sure he was quite safe!

Mountfield Bird Sanctuary
It has been quite sunny here today and I saw many different birds in the garden. I caught these five varieties on camera (there is a chaffinch amongst the leaves to the left of the woodpigeon). I love watching them! I may have to start putting pics of all our visitors in my 'Feathered Friends' blog.

Goldfinches
I counted nine goldfinches in the garden at once today - seven on this feeder and two on another on the other side of the garden. I grabbed the camera and started to take these snaps. As I snapped they started to fly away (you can see six on the first picture and then five!). The first two pics are a bit blurred. For the second pair of pics, I had set up the tripod, but of course dinner was nearly over by this time!

A bird in the hand...
If you look carefully, you can see a white 'cloudy' shape covering most of the front of the photo. This is actually an outline left by a collared dove after it flew, at speed, into our patio door! There was a large amount of feathers flying, but thankfully the bird was unhurt! You can see the body shape and the two wings in flight! I can't believe the mark it left - I have to clean them now (in the summer!). Not the best photography - I was too close and now the rain has washed it off, but the story is amusing!

Stop, Get Ready or Go?
Driving to Wayne and Katy's for the evening and just took this shot whilst waiting for the lights to change. Because I had the camera on a slow speed, I was lucky enough to catch all the lights on! I also like the shadow over the benches.

Photos
I spent a few hours going through all the photos today, trying to remember who everyone was. You can see them all on the left, bagged and itemised in triplicate and in alphabetical and numerical order. I need to start scanning for the scrapbook now!

Weight Watchers Anonymous
Well we had great fun this afternoon, setting Mark off on his journey to his new body! And we had fun doing this photo shoot too! There were many pictures from many angles!

Morning Essentials
I wasn't thinking about my blog photo for the day when I passed my dressing table and saw this array of items needed each morning!

Aztecs
Year 5 had an 'Aztec Day' today! This is Viv, Kelly and Julia doing their bit to keep the tradition of Minterne staff dressing up going! I think there was a bit of sacrificing going on today - in the shape of teachers encouraging children to try spicy Mexican food and then sending them running down the corridors screaming that their mouths were burning from the raw chillis! Fun times!

Moonlight
I saw the moon out of the hall window as I was going upstairs - thought it was bright and worth being today's photograph

Content
Bramble was very happy to see us all come home last night - especially Nigel! This is her in contented mood next to me on the sofa. Such a beautiful dog!

Contrasts
The top picture was actually taken on Saturday - it is the view we saw from the hotel bedroom (very beautiful).
The bottom picture was what we saw on Sunday morning after laying in bed listening to the howling wind and pouring rain (not so beautiful).

So much fun!
It was so hard to choose my photo today as there were so many good ones from the Skittles Party! We always have so much fun thanks to Mum and Dad organising so well! This one of Dan amused me - he held on to this for so long!

Pretty Things
I thought these roses were pretty now they are dried - they have been hanging on my spice rack for a while now. In fact they were the first roses Neil bought for Emma, possibly on Valentines Day last year!

The best way to see football
Again, this is taken out of my bedroom window - the players were at the far end of the park on the floodlit pitch and I thought it would make a good pic. I also changed it to black and white which I personally like better.

Before and After
This was the general state of all eight tables in my classroom this morning. It was all worth it...
...to produce these lovely creations!

Bunny
Neil bought Emma a present today - a bunny! Their first pet who is to live in the hutch in their lounge!. He is 5 months old and was up for adoption from a charity and he cost them £10. Neil decided that he would buy him when the charity worker told him the bunny's name - Wallace! So welcome to the family Wallace Wallace! (Ginger as well hehe!)

Random
This was the result of me playing with this photo - it is a picture of a silver bangle made up of little metal studs. I picked out some colours and just made it weird!

Under the sea
This was taken at a Phil and Deborah's tonight - the tank is enormous (about 8ft x 2ft x 4ft) and the fish are all beautiful. This picture doesn't really do this fish justice but it was the best I could do through the glass! We had a lovely meal and lots of laughs.

The effects of drugs
We had a travelling theatre in today and this guy was superb in his role as Ryan, the character that was pressured into taking drugs. It sparked brilliant discussions with the children. It's a show I have seen every year since beginning in Year 6 over 8 years ago. I never tire of its powerful message and the response of the children. This was a particularly good performance this year.

Spring is on its way
It was a beautiful day today - the sky was actually this blue, no trick photography! I love the Spring so I hope it is on its way. There is something very refreshing about bare trees and warm sun - gives a strong sense of hope that winter is almost over!
